NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS 2010
At the Historical Museum of Warsaw
Chopin's Warsaw
1. 19:00 - 00:00, an evening of Warsaw films in the museum's cinema (up to 60 people) – entry from Old Town Square No. 42;
Films: "Warsaw will not forget" – documentary about Warsaw 1939-1945, screening times: 19:00, 20:00, 21:00, 22:00; "Chopin's youth" – a film dealing with the story of the young Frederic Chopin (the years: 1825-1830), time: 23
2. 19:00-01:00, temporary exhibitions: "Warsaw - the city of Chopin's youth", "Jerzy Waldorff 1910-1999. The Departed - the Friend - the Loved One"
3. 19:00-20:30, activities for children: multimedia presentation and artistic activities devoted to Chopin, workshops entitled "A topography of Chopin's Warsaw"
4. 18:00-24:00 Museum Fair - a fair selling museum publications in the Old Market Square

THE BARBICAN:
1. 19:00-01:00, exhibitions entitled: "The Old Town in Warsaw - a world cultural heritage monument" and "Defensive walls"
2. 19:00-22:00, ulica Piekarska, at its intersection with ulica Rycerska, up to the Barbican, activities around the Old Town "How towns were defended in medieval Poland based on the example of old Warsaw":
- stories about, among others, the city walls in the defensive system, and on the role of the elements of defensive architecture
- displays of knights fighting performed by a historical re-enactment society, between the Barbican and the Powder Tower
The Historical Museum of Warsaw rents exhibition space, museum rooms and the lapidary for meetings and other events (seminars, lectures, scientific congresses, concerts, receptions, theatre performances, book promotions).
Rooms
ON THE FIRST FLOOR - 140 seats; suitable for lectures, seminars
ON THE SECOND FLOOR - 140 seats, 1 grand piano; suitable for lectures, seminars, concerts of chamber music.
Courtyard space
THE LAPIDARY - rented in the summer season (May 15 - September 30; roofed space from June 15), suitable for concerts, recitals, theatre performances
THE COURTYARD with a permanent roof and glass walls - rented from May till the end of September; suitable for exhibitions, receptions.
TERMS
1. The fee for using the Exhibition Room, other museum rooms and the lapidary for incidental events ranges from 2000 zloty to 5000 zloty per room per day.
2. The fee for using Museum rooms for meetings of scientific societies and other public utility purposes (for example, seminars) ranges from 500 zloty to 2000 zloty per day.
